President Duterte wants hunger stopped in many areas in Mindanao and the rest of the country, telling the United States anew that the Philippines can survive without any aid from the superpower nation.
In his speech during the launching of the Comprehensive Reform and Development Agenda (CRDA) for ARMM at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex (SKCC) in, Duterte aired his anger against the US anew for belittling him and the rest of the Filipino people.
He said the US can keep their aids to themselves.”Hindi kami patay gutom,” he added.
Duterte lamented how the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and other areas remained poor for decades due to the armed conflict in the southern region.
“I want the incidence of hunger stopped,” Duterte said.
“Gawan natin ng paraan even manlang sa pagkain ng mga bata,” the President said, calling out to Social Welfare and Development Secretary Judy Taguiwalo to focus efforts in Mindanao.
