Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa revealed that he is open for a possible Senate run after his retirement on 2018.
During a Press conference on Tuesday, the PNP Chief said that he is possibly enter politics on 2019 after his retirement, but he clarified that he’s still unsure.
“Maaga pa masyado. Pinauubaya ko na lang kay Lord kung anong gusto niya,” he told the Press.
The forum moderator asked if Dela Rosa also considering to run as President on 2022, but he only said “Bato ganern? Ganern?”
He also believes that politics is good if the politician really wants to serve the people and not to corrupt the government funds.
“Politics is good kung gusto mo maglingkod sa taong bayan. Politics is bad kung ang gusto mo ay mangkwarta,” he added.
If President Duterte recommended, he would surely run for a government position on 2019.
“I am open. Open ako kung ano sabihin ni Presidente na pag-retire mo ganito ang gawin mo, susunod ako sa kanya. He is my boss,” Dela Rosa said
He also admired President Duterte’s genuine public service and simple life.
The PNP Chief catches the attention of the Filipino because of his “Oplan Tokhang” and successful War on Drugs. He also earned praised for being a hardworking PNP Chief and despite of some criticisms that he received from the critics, he’s still determined to finish the illegal drugs in this country within a year.
