In a departure from his previous actions, President Rodrigo Duterte said he does not want to reveal the names of the politikos and personalities in the third so-called “narco list” in his possession because “it will just make Filipinos cry.”
Facing reporters at the Davao City International Airport Thursday (Oct. 27) after his three-day official visit to Japan, Duterte said the latest narco list practically comprises the drug industry in the Philippines.
Referring to the list, the President said: “I do not want to make this public because it will just make the Filipino cry. Sinong? Tingnan ninyo mabuti ha. That’s why I want to talk to Congress. I want to talk to the judiciary, Supreme Court. I want to talk to the military, the service commanders. Hindi ko kaya ito.”
“Ang taga Human Rights mag-commit ng suicide kung tapusin ko itong lahat,” he added.
The President previously disclosed the names of five police generals supposedly involved in illegal drugs, as well as the 164 former and current government employees who are allegedly part of the drug trade.
Duterte said he was “dumbfounded” that he still ended up with a thick list of so called narco politikos and personalities even after he ordered concerned government agencies to revalidate the information.
