The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) on Friday simultaneously announced that more than 1,300 high-profile activists will lose their source of living if the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), continue to batter the New People’s Army.

According to joint circular from the two government agencies, their respective offices already received number of complaints from people who are losing their livelihood because of military operation, especially in Mindanao.

The circular said that while the military operation is done in Mindanao, most of the affected activists who benefited from the revolutionary taxes collected by the rebel group are living in Metro Manila.

The PIA also releases a separate note that the 1,300 activists have no regular jobs or businesses who just rely their daily needs from collected “dirty money”.

The press release named several Party List group members including leaders like Renato Reyes, Liza Maza, Teodoro Casiño, Satur Ocampo, including sitting politicians like Risa Hontiveros, Reynaldo Lesaca, Nathaniel Santiago, and other Human Rights advocates.

DOLE urged those affected activists to find formal and decent jobs instead of organizing rallies and poisoning the minds of younger generation.
